Section is a town in Jackson County, Alabama. There were communities such as Kirby Creek, Gossets Hollow, and Fern Cliff. These communities came together to form the Town of Section. Pioneer settlers came in large numbers in 1862 to Section. Settlers were required to live on the land for five years before claiming the property as their own. Section was officially incorporated in August 1910.
As of the 2010 United States Census the population was 770. With an estimated population of 745 for 2017. It has an elevation of 1,348 feet and covers 4.57 square miles of land . It is located in the 35771 zip code.
